Dear Abby – Are These Fucking Morons For Real??
DEAR ABBY: I rent my own apartment and my family lives an hour’s drive away. My boyfriend of one year, “Mac,” lives about 10 minutes from me and spends the night a few times a week and vice-versa.
I got the flu last month and it developed into bronchitis. I was so sick I could barely drag myself out of bed. I asked Mac to come over and take care of me and he said, “No, I don’t want to get sick. I’ll come by when you’re better.”
Abby, if someone cares about you, don’t you think he should help out — maybe make some soup, give you water at your bedside and just be there in general? If Mac got sick like that, I would go over and take care of him. But he wasn’t willing to do the same. He said he doesn’t feel it is “his job.”
I am upset by this. Is it an indication of how he would be if we got married? — IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH

You stupid shit – is this your first fucking relationship? Guess what – majority of women will feel the same urge as you, when their man is sick, to nurture him and help nurse him back to health. Most men almost demand it because of the way they act when they get a cold: you’d almost swear they were still sucking on their mother’s tit, they are such babies about it. And yet you expect the same in return? You twit.
Even if they do want to help nurse you back to health, a man will probably start irritating you in about five minutes….why? Because he won’t make the soup right, adding extra noodles just the way you like it. He’ll make the water too hot for your tea so you have to wait 20 minutes just to be able to sip it. He’ll hold his breath every time he enters your bedroom to avoid breathing in your germs. He will not rinse the bowl and pot out right, leaving you crusty chicken noodle soup that you won’t discover for two days. He will ask for ass. He will tell you that you don’t have to do anything, just spread your legs and he’ll do the rest. He will pout when you stare at him, mouth gaping wide open and will not understand what you’re so upset about – because he said he’d do it all.
Do yourself a favor. Men should not take care of sick women. They suck at it. They will irritate you more than they help you. Short of getting your prescriptions filled and bringing you take-out dinner, they are useless when you are sick.
DEAR ABBY: I am 27 and have been a vegetarian for five years. I am trying to develop a thick skin when it comes to people who question or make fun of my choice, but I’m tired of laughing and letting the comments “roll off” my back.
When my grandfather sits near me at a family event, he will analyze my plate, look at me in disgust and then tell me, “Carrots have feelings, too.”
When I go to a well-known sandwich shop, I order a basic and “boring” sandwich, which I really enjoy. The sandwich makers give me funny looks and ask, “That’s all?” or, “You’re spending five bucks on THIS?” followed by laughter or a shake of their heads. One even asked me if I was crazy!
I am tired of people questioning what I eat or what kind of sandwich I choose to spend my money on. I don’t make comments or question those who eat meat. What is the best response to people who are so rude about my choices? — HERBIVORE BY CHOICE IN NEW YORK
Oh my God – grow a set of balls already. Who gives a shit if people are teasing you about being a vegetarian? What trailer park are you from? I don’t know anyone in a town with a population of more than 100 people who could give a shit less if someone is a vegan or not. You say you live in New York – I find it hard to believe that there is a New Yorker in this world who can not hold his/her own or is going to be offended at someone supposedly teasing you about being a vegan. IT’S NEW YORK!! It’s the fucking melting pot of America!! Christ almighty – I live in Canton fucking Ohio and I can promise you, no one here could give a hairy shit if someone is a vegetarian or not.
